Description

Boost Me (for free)

Hi, I'm designing these 3D models in my free time (it's just my hobby), always providing all of my designs for free here on Makerworld. Often prototyping requires a lot of material, so if you like my work, consider supporting me for free by dropping a boost. =) But whatever you decide, enjoy the models and happy printing! :) - Oli

🏋️GymBuddy: The Ultimate Gym Timer

Are you spending more time scrolling through your phone than lifting weights at the gym? That was me. I’d sit down for a quick break between sets, grab my phone, and suddenly realize I’d taken a 5-minute break instead of 60 seconds. It was distracting, unproductive, and ultimately frustrating. 💡

That’s why I created GymBuddy: a simple, distraction-free device to keep me focused during workouts. It’s a compact gym timer that reminds you when it’s time to get back to work.

💪 How It Works

  • Distraction-Free Timer: Displays elapsed workout time in the format HH:MM, so you can track your session without needing your phone.
  • Break Timer: Press the button to start a 60-second break timer.
  • Buzzer Reminder: A buzzer sounds when the 60 seconds are up, letting you know it’s time to get back to your set.
  • Smart Button Control: Press the button again to stop the break timer and silence the buzzer.

🖨️ 3D Printing the GymBuddy Case

The design is compact, functional, and easy to print. The case features:

  • Slots for all components that hold them in place, including precise cutouts for the USB-C slots (ensure you use the exact components mentioned in the GitHub documentation).

Print Settings:

  • Material: PLA or PETG for durability.
  • Layer Height: 0.2 mm.
  • Infill: 15% gyroid (higher infill recommended for added strength).
  • Supports: No supports required.

🤔 Why GymBuddy?

I wanted something that worked for me, not against me. I tried using my phone, but it was too distracting. With GymBuddy, I know exactly when my breaks are over without the temptation of endless notifications. Now, my workouts are more focused, efficient, and productive.
