Description

EZ OpenForge 2.0 Dungeon Stone Set 03

If, like me, you want fun, easy to print, ready to play Dungeon Tiles but become overwhelmed by all that goes into a single tile (the bits and pieces, and the questions you need to answer, and the assembly and gluing and everything else) I get it. I hear you. Me too.

Don’t worry, I got it sorted, prepped, tested and plated for us, the unknowing and indecisive. This is ready to go and prints in place, no gluing needed. Size this to your print plate, and hit go. Want less? Just delete them, want more? Print another plate full!

This is EZ OpenForge 2.0 Dungeon Stone Set 03, and it contains;

  • Plate 1 - Dungeon Stone Stair Tiles

  • Plate 2 - Dungeon Stone Alcove & Niche Tiles

  • Plate 3 - Dungeon Stone Pillar Tiles

  • Plate 4 & 5 - Dungeon Stone Pool and Puddle Tiles 1 & 2

  • Plate 6 - openLOCK Clips

Let's talk basics, this is all;

  • Low Wall, Wall on Tile
  • Plain Square Inch openLOCK
  • No Gluing Required
  • Post Processing; snip out the two little supports on each base

How did I get here? Honestly it was analysis paralysis. There are so many options, I spent quite a bit of time hemming and hawing. The “but what if…”s crept in, and kept me from printing anything. In the end, I just ripped the bandaid off and just came up with the following;

  • OpenForge 2.0 tiles come in a range of different sets. Some sets are more developed than others, Dungeon Stone for example, has a lot more tile options than some of the other sets. Good I started here, eh?
    • SET: OpenForge 2.0 - Dungeon Stone Tile
  • Inch or 25mm? This is the size of the tile, either 25mm or inch (25.4mm). Most OpenForge 2.0 tiles are in inch format these days so it’s the one time I won't go metric with my 3D printing. They are all inch (except that really cool one you need. It’s 25mm, of course ;).
    • SIZING: Inch
  • Wall on Tile or Separate Wall? This will melt your noodle. Some tiles are wall on tile, and some have a separate wall. Choosing one or the other is a good way to start an argument. Whatever you choose is wrong, just live with that. And the wall height? People want to see what's going on, their painted minis, the skeleton attacking, etc. not your beautiful wall.
    • WALL STYLE: Low Wall
    • WALL ORIENTATION: Wall on Tile
    • DOOR STYLE: Narrow or Double Narrow
  • What kind of base, there are 9+ options. Magnets? OpenLOCK? Dragonbite? Infinitylock? Another thing to high-center on. This will come down to use case, and personal preference, again whatever you choose is wrong, just live with that. Remember that a single 2x2 tile needs eight (yea, 8!) magnets.
    • BASE: Plain Square Inch openLOCK

So, I just made choices and started printing! I chose a lower resolution for faster print speeds. A full set, even at a higher (lower? Just bigger, let's go with that) resolution is going to take a day (like 24+ solid hours of printing), and while I used Bambu PLA Basic filament for some tiles, the Bambu PLA Matte used for others is a better option. You can find that here; https://us.store.bambulab.com/products/pla-matte-filament . Or use your favorite flavor, it's all good.

-----

NOTE: I did not design these. I just assembled them in a way that makes for easy printing in the Bambu ecosystem. Most were designed by Devon Jones, show some love if you want.

I was inspired by infam0usCrow and yandalf here on MakerWorld to put this all together. Be sure to check out their stuff!
