Description

Description

This is the Kaby Lake Version of my simple delid tool.

Thanks to "Stullen Andi" for sharing the CPU dimension source :)

This Version is BETA,

I dont have a Kaby Lake CPU therefore it would be great if someone can print, test it and give feedback if it will fit

This tool should also work with Skylake/Devilcanyon/Haswell CPUs as Kaby only has two additional noses.

* print both parts,

* put some sort of rubber or foam on the inner bottom of the base.

* put the CPU into the CPU-holder with the long PCB part looking over the end of the tray.

* then put it in your vice and close it slowly carefully (giving the glue time to release).

For enough strengh print at least with 3 perimeters and 30% infill !

USE AT YOUR OWN RISK !!!

* Only for CPUs who are glued and with thermal-paste, not for soldered CPU`s

Materials and methods

Some sort of thin foam/rubber

A vice. - do NOT use a screw clamp (c-clamp) or a hammer !

a 3D printer that can print very exact, the dimensions are very tight to ensure that the cpu won`t jump out while pressing.
From the responses until now it seems that the glue of the Kabylake cpu`S may be a little bit stronger, so its strongly recommended to print with high-impact material like PLA at 0,1mm layerheight or less and very high infill !
