This is a complete rebuild from the ground up of my Mass MTG Tokens project, except this time there are no additional materials needed. Everything is 100% 3D printed!
This is a doubled sided Koma's Coil / Snake token for Magic the Gathering. There are multiple variations of each token (such as different P/T, abilities, etc.) and each variation has both a top part and bottom part so you can mix and match to create your own customized token! Each variation is on its own build plate and named accordingly on the plate itself and within the âObjectsâ view.
This token's width is sized at typical standard playing card dimensions, ~63.5mm wide and is only 4.0mm tall once assembled. It is 6 separate parts: a top part, a bottom part and 4x dials:
- The front side of the token has 2x 00-99 counters
- The back side of the token has 2x 00-99 counters

Assembly
You will need to print the following:
- 1x bottom token from the Bottoms Print Profile
- 1x top token from the Tops Print Profile
- 1x set of the 4 dials from the Dials Print Profile
Each dial goes in a specific spot - all 4 are different. Match up each dial with the bottom part so the numbers are (nearly) 100% straight within the window and facing the right direction. Once you have the dials in place, take the top part and snap it together with the bottom part with the dials in between.
You will need to apply pressure to where each of these snaps are on the top part and bottom part. It does take a bit of force to fully snap the pieces together. Once snapped together, there shouldn't be any gaps between any of the pieces and no bulging on the top and bottom. You will probably hear multiple clicking sounds - no worries, that is expected!
For my printer, the tolerances were perfect and everything snapped together without glue. If for whatever reason yours is a bit loose, use a small drop of super glue to secure the top token part and the bottom token part together.

Check out the full MTG Double Sided Token Counters Collection for even more front and back plates to print!
Each double sided token has both front and back parts for each token. This means you can mix and match to create your own custom token! For example: Squirrel Token on the front, Angel Token on the back

Printing Tips
- I highly recommend printing the artwork and text in black and using a light colored background so the text/artwork are easily seen
- The artwork looks very strange in other colors (optical illusion, maybe?)
- You will need to make sure you have near perfect bed adhesion
- There are tons of small sections when the artwork and text are printing
- Make sure you thoroughly wash your build plate with Dawn dish soap to remove any hand/finger oils. If you are still having trouble with adhesion and are using the PEI Smooth/Textured plate, try bumping the bed's temperature up 5 or 10 degrees (60 or 65 degrees).
- It is not recommended to use âSportâ or âLudicrousâ mode when printing this
- Please just use the âStandardâ option to ensure a successful, great looking print
- While all the photos were done using a 0.4mm nozzle, this print would greatly benefit from a 0.2mm nozzle
- The artwork and especially the text will be much crisper with finer details
