Description
The Aircraft
Development Background: Developed by Consolidated Aircraft, the B-24 was designed as a long-range heavy bomber with a unique, high-wing design. It quickly became one of the most produced aircraft of WWII, serving in every major theater of the war.
Interesting Facts:
- The B-24 had a greater range and could carry a larger payload than the B-17, making it invaluable in the Pacific Theater.
- It was used in various roles, including anti-submarine patrols, where it significantly contributed to protecting Allied shipping from U-boat attacks.
- Due to its narrow fuselage and complex controls, it was challenging to fly compared to other bombers, but its versatility kept it in high demand.
The Model
This model should go together with ease and no glue required. As with my others, control surfaces are positionable, propellers should spin when blown on. Use some caution when moving the rudders, as they have much smaller hinge area due to their unique geometry.
