!st Generation DuraAce Brake Hood
Print Profile(1)

Description
My old college road bike has sat for decades unridden. It has a mix of parts from the mid-1970s including a set of Dura Ace brakes. The lever hoods have decayed to unrecognizable lumpy, discolored, blobs. The thought of dealing with them has kept me from getting the bike rideable.
These fit the levers and are reasonably close to the originals in appearance. I used a tan TPU. The orientation used prints easily and uses minimal supports. The only issue, which needs be addressed with some painted supports is that the vertical edge near the handlebar is too flexible as it approaches the top and the head pushes it around a bit.
TPU is far less stretchy than the gum rubber, maybe latex, of the originals. Un-mounting the lever and sliding it on from the rear is necessary. A heat gun may come in handy pushing in the ferrule in once in place.
The 3mf file is for a Bambu X1C with a generic TPU chosen for the color.
UPDATE: I added a feature to clear the ends of the pivot pins that got dropped somewhere in the editing. Plus, I did a Bambu Studio 3mf with the stabilizers on the wall. It did fix the wavey edges and now prints perfectly.
