Description

Preparation

Choice of material has a direct impact on the result. Don't be surprised when you pick a rough filament and it won't spin well. Silk and the Basic PLA worked best for me so far. I expect PETG to work even better, but I am still waiting for a delivery.

Printing

Slow and Steady is the key to a succesful print. If you have adhesion issues, try cleaning your bed and going even slower. If you must, use a brim, but keep in mind that comes with extra debris to remove. A test print with 0.1mm distance to the brim came off with very little remains, but as with everything "your mileage may vary".

Using a Smooth Plate should technically increase smoothness, but I don't have one, so I can only assume. The Spinner's top surface can an should be ironed. Make sure you print with 100% infill for extra mass.

Customization

If you don't need the little indicator which number was rolled, you can also print the Top and Bottom without them - I added them as separate model files. And if you just want a spinny fidget with nothing on it, you can simply print the Spinner model without holes and paint job.

Assembly

Simply insert Top into Bottom part with the Spinner sandwiched in-between.

The two inner parts should stay in place and work well with a bit of squeezing if you find they are no longer turning properly, but I suppose you could glue them together with a drop of superglue to keep them secured - just remember to align your indicators before it sets.

If it doesn't rotate freely, make sure the parts are flush and there is no debris in the way.

After Printing

Sanding the parts before assembly will help tremendously.

If you have graphite spray or some other lubricant (WD40 works too) you can get it to spin even longer

The inner diameter is 18.50mm and 19mm but I can easily upload a size that fits you specifically - just let me know!
