Description

A custom made dust boot for the Rat Rig's Stronghold PRO CNC that is also ATC friendly, at least for the kind ive made myself. If you want to make it like this yourself, your Tool holders have to be spaced about 103,4mm from eachother and about 69,mm from the extrusion wall. Also i recommend using my tool holders that are made for the ISO 20 tool holder. Here is the link to them: https://makerworld.com/en/models/774782#profileId-711185

The dustboot is printed from multable parts so that it needs less supports, glue the dustboot add on the dustboot, but don't forget to add the nut to it, because its impossible to add it later!

The mf3. file has pauses added when you need to add the magnets, keep in mind the orientation!

The parts you will need:

  • 2x 8mm linear rods (200mm or longer, im using 300mm)
  • 2x 8mm Linear bearings
  • 2x M6 threaded Insert (for the linear bearing holder)
  • 2x 50mm M6 screws (for the linear bearing holder)
  • 20x 10x3mm magnets ( 10 for the dust boot and brush holder each, works just fine with 6 each)
  • 1x 80 - 100mm hose clamp
  • 1x 80mm hose
  • 1x Brush for the dustshoe (im using brushes that are 70mm long, you will need to cut the brushes at the back since they cant get inserted as deep as on the sides)
  • optional 1x LED 95mm ring light https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005007039340245.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.49.72091802lgll1x

  • Added a dustboot lock, that allows you to limit the depth of the dustboot movment downwards, just set it at the lenght of the longest bit and watch it ride the material as the bit goes lower, just so that it does not crush the brushes. All you will need is 2x M4 insert threads and 2x M4 x 20mm screws. Tightening them by hand is good enough!
