Description

**** I'm not too good with write ups, so will likely update this at a later time with all the details. ****

Soo … I have set up a greenhouse in my office and stuck all my 3D printing gear in there to get rid of all the smells and toxins. In my search of quick solutions, I didn't find anything satisfactory; either things were too bulky (like the VIVOSUN fan), pricey, or wouldn't mount the way I was planning. So I made my own.

I've ran a 3" hose through the greenhouse, through the ceiling sheetrock, and out through the attic window. Then I selected 4 different VOC sensors, connected to an ESP32 and combined them into a single “Toxicity” sensor and creates a thermostar in Home Assistant to automatically vent all the air out when that sensor would go above 1 (tVOC > 80). This model is the fan that does the work. The inspiration came from the Vivosun fan and an exhaust fan in my bathroom that clears out all the steam after a nice hot shower in minutes.

I took a two-speed 120V 3k RPM bathroom  fan AC motor and build this model around it. This is the result.
