Description

An index wheel for woodturning 18x open segmented bowls. There are two rows of 18 holes, with each row offset by half, to allow for layering of the segments.

Glue them to a ø200 circle cut from 7mm ply as shown. Gorilla glue worked for me. My lathe has a 30mm shaft so use that for the centre hole in the ply (30mm x 3.5TPI). It's easiest to drill the centre hole and mount it on the lathe, then turn it down to ø200mm.

Three prints are required. Use the aligner segments to complete the circle, and they can be discarded once the glue-up is done.

Hi, I am going to need an indexing chuck or indexing workaround for a project I want to make. My lathe is a midi Rikon and does not have a head big enough to mount the this. And to make things worse, I do not have even a clue on how this will work (not only a newbie 3D Printing junkie but a newbie woodturner). That would not be so bad but I am 77 and old dogs and new tricks come to visit every day. Any help is appreciated.

Hard to learn new tricks when the instrtuctions aren't clear! I have added more pictures and I hope clearer instructions. It looks like your lathe has a 1" spindle, that's the size to drill the centre hole.

I am so happy to get this indexing wheel for my lathe. I cannot wait to set it up and do some experimenting. Thank you, DeeuuTee for sharing these two models.
