Description

Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress

Development Background: The B-17 was one of the most famous bombers of WWII, designed by Boeing in the 1930s. Initially conceived as a coastal defense bomber, it gained a reputation for toughness and became the workhorse of the U.S. Army Air Forces' daylight bombing campaign over Europe.

Interesting Facts:

  • Known for its durability, many B-17s returned to base with severe damage, earning it the nickname "Flying Fortress."
  • Its design included multiple gun positions, which provided robust defensive firepower, though it still suffered high losses in unescorted missions over Germany.
  • The B-17’s role in the strategic bombing campaign helped weaken the German war industry, although at significant cost to its crews.

The Model

This one should go together pretty easily. If you're having issues with fit, try switching print order from out/inner to inner/outer. Kinda depends on the printer and filament. But you shouldn't need glue for this one.
