Description

This is 3D printable model of the NX Class NX-01 Enterprise from the Star Trek. It is a kit and does not require any glue. The different colored parts are separated for easier printing but some painting is still required.

For the assembly, please have a look at the following video.

All the models are first available to my Club members. After 3 weeks since the publishing, they will be available to anyone ;)

Wow - nice one… did you paint the dark grey/black?

Did you hand paint or use Bambu Studio painting tools to get all the awesome black sections? If you used studio, how many filament changes were required?

I honestly don't remember how many changes there were, but I know there were A LOT!!! 🤣 Painted in Bambu Studio. if to do all over again, I would definitely hand paint, to save time and add more precision to some of the areas I couldn't get to. This was my first real print project ever though

Great Model! Would love to see the Discovery next from you, since no model is available with your love to details.

This is a 3d scan of the 1/1000 Polar Lights model kit...pretty good resolution of it really. When you look at the actual 3d model file it becomes pretty blatantly obvious as he misaligned some parts a bit and the 3d model's mesh retains the holes the various parts of the saucer and other bits use to peg together on the polar lights model - including the port the stand pegs into that the polar lights model also leverages for a NX-01 Refit optional pieces. Really all of his stuff appear to be scans if they aren't models from elsewhere. I grew a bit suspicious when I saw the logo usage marring the hull and the bizarre looking font on the saucer (the real model uses a sticker because the NX-01 markings were Painted on the actual ship - not protruding - and therefore used decals that came with the model)

So? And what, you think the models he borrowed from were original? No, they borrowed from someone who borrowed from someone else and so on. It's derivative, but so is all innovation. ALL artists incorporate a little here and there from other artists. The point is, it is his work and he does a damn good job bringing us some very cool ships for FREE, so, maybe rather than try to turn people against him, show some appreciation next time and quit being a jealous crybaby.

nice model, only issue i have is the peg from the stand "i did pla+" just breaks on the two models, I solved this with some abs like resin and bonded the two together pretty well :)

I basically repainted the entire model as I only have 1 ams. I changed out the colors per plate and modified the paints for each to minimize the color changes and waste

I cut a piece off a metal hanger and heat pressed it into the top of the stand to reinforce it

This is the gold standard of the NX-01. Prints with ease and a perfect replica. I had a roll of clear PLA and wanted to try it out. It worked perfectly. Interesting to see infill and I'd swear it weighs more than colored PLA. Also, I enjoy painting my Star Trek ships rather than letting the printer do the work. So, I will be priming it once the glue dries tonight.

Printed it in 75% for my small son… with relatively thick layers (.16). Looks very good, thank you! 🙏

Awesome. I'm in the middle of printing it and I've been trying to get the blue on there, but going back and forth on how much or exactly where. I like your option. It was my initial thought, then I did a little more. Do you have a completed print to show of the nacelles?
