Description

This is my minimalist redesign of the 1980 board game Can't Stop (also known as The Great Races 1974).

The game is about both luck and strategic thinking. Each turn you roll dice and advance along three columns on a shared game board. Each column corresponds to a possible total of two dice, but the length of each column varies by probability. Common numbers like 6, 7, and 8 require more moves to complete than unlikely numbers like 2 and 12, making them hard to finish quickly but more reliable.

Rules

The game doesn't have a lot of rules and they are easy to learn. I recommend watching this video to get started. It is only 2:30 minutes long and has a great explanation with good examples. If you are unsure about a rule, please leave a comment and I will help you.

You can also find the rules as a PDF here: https://cdn.1j1ju.com/medias/d8/88/07-cant-stop-rulebook.pdf

Game Box

macroflower made an awesome game box that fits everything. You can find it here.

Printing

  • The minimum printing required for you to play is 1x“Board”, 1x“Progress Tokens”, and 2x“Player Tokens”. You can print more player tokens if you want to play 3 or 4 players.
  • When printing with 0.2mm layer height the color change happens at layer 11 (height 2.20mm)
  • My print profiles use 0.2mm layer height, but you can increase this to speed up the time if you don't mind the layer lines.
  • My print profiles use a 0.4 nozzle which allows for walls and a single infill line inside the numbers. Using a higher nozzle size will only leave room for the walls and may result in fewer details. You can go for a 0.2 nozzle but I don't think the extra print time is worth it.
  • A1 mini compatible.

Colors

  • The board is split into two colors. A base color and a color for the extruded paths and numbers. I recommend two neutral colors, such as black and white.
  • The progress tokens should be the same color as the extruded part of the board to signal they belong to the board and make it clear they can be used by all players.
  • Each set of player tokens should have a distinct color like blue, red, green, or yellow. This helps with readability later in the game as it can get crowded with 4 players.
