Door Wedgie for Fire Rated Spring Close Doors

This door wedge is designed to fit between the door and door frame to hold open spring closed fire rated doors. It can be resized to fit other size doors. Pictures are of parts created at high speed, which sacrificed some quality but still does the job.

Originally designed so cleaners could hold a door open while they moved cleaning carts in and out of rooms.

Suggested print recommended is 4 walls with 20% gyroid infill for strength using PLA+ or sturdier materials. No supports are required.

The hole in the part is made so that a loop string can be tied through to hang it off the side of the cleaner's carts.

This design has been in use for about a year and half as of 11/06/2024 and I've only had to replace one of them that was broken when someone tried to slam the door closed while it was in place.
