Description

Needed a medication dispenser for day and night medication. Found one with only daily but not for 2 times a day. So used the same idea but made it so you can have 14 slots instead of 7. Text of days is not included in print. you can edit or you can paint or write on the model.

I'd like to do a remix of this one, with a minor change to the mechanism and a lid. Do you have the step files or a similar original CAD format I can start from? I'd like to modify the mechanism so that the buttons stay in after you push them and then add a hinged lid to the top that, when opened, will push all the bins back out. That way, when you take your pills you push the bin in, it stays in so you know you took that day's pills, then once you've used all 14 you open the lid to refill it and it pops all 14 bins back out so they're ready to be filled back up. I think it should be a pretty straightforward mechanism to design and will add some really useful functionality to this already great design.

Does anyone have the STL for the removable tray that someone made from the original design?

I didn't. but I added a notch at the corner and just slide them all off the end. I'm going to reprint a little larger because some pills keep getting stuck. I have a few large ones.

Some one made inserts so the larger pills wouldn't get stuck.

Yet to print the lid and the bottom letters but it works perfect. It is advised to dissect the lettering front part for clean pill cylinders finish without supports. I would post my modified version if it was an open license. The designer seems to have used another person's model but not really mentioning it and lacking explanation that I need to use the rubber bands for the push mechanism.

Love this design! Made a couple modifications based on the comment section. Split the upper and lower, added pegs to hold them together, as well as the sloped pull out tray. I also re-designed the push buttons so they print nicer and don't require glue. I had extra screws and found the back prints nicer without the crazy over hangs. Using 2cm silicone bands from aliexpress

Nice pill box. However, I will bevel the front edge and raise it a bit, as the tablets are difficult to remove and jump out

very good print, met my needs exactly! there is tons of infill that is hard to get out on the main piece.

1) It would be better to separate the front lettering part and glue it after printing to remove use of supports. Also, that way, it will be easier to use different colors to print the front face. 2) I was wondering about the rebound mechanism and resorted to finding the original model for an explanation. 3) rubber holding back can be improved with slim canals to allow rubber bands to pass.

This was fun to print. If you are not good at removing supports you may want to skip this one. Easy to assemble. Also do not make the mistake of tipping this unit forward after you have filled it with your meds..
