Description

This project is meant to take those extra 3.5 fixed bay slots in the SuperMicro CSE-825 chassis and convert them to a dual 2.5 HDD/SSD hot swap (if your hardware supports) bay.

I couldn't find an existing project/model that satisfied my exact needs so figured I'd just make it.

I've provided the individual part STLs as well as my Fusion360 file to facilitate modifying to fit your needs.

The assembly instructions are included.

I printed with Elegoo Rapid PETG.

The project requires this print for mounting (I had already printed these and didn't want to waste them):

Supermicro Fixed Drive Tray Adaptor by Talgomine on Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6412601

The following parts are needed to match my final build:

Hardware:

1x M2x16mm hex head screw (lever post screw)

2x M2x12mm hex head screw (top to bottom sled, alongside the push rod)

4x M2x8mm hex head screw (2 per sled, for sata adapters)

4x HDD screw (mount bottom sled to the fixed bay adapter)

8x SSD screws (mount your drives to the trays)

The hex head screws I used came from this kit:

Sata Adapters:
