Repair Shelf for Locomotive and Carriage Models in Scale 1:87
The shelf is based on the design of a rather expensive piece of foam and provides space for models up to 250 mm in length. Two “tracks” are available, one for positioning locomotives and carriages overhead, perfect for working on the underside of the model. The second track is tilted at 50° and thus offers ergonomic access to the side of the model.
In the middle part of the locomotive bench, inserts for tools and small parts can be used.
The cross-section is chosen so that both “tracks” can be laid out with 10 mm thick foam. This is best secured with spray adhesive or double-sided tape.
The resulting dimensions of the “tracks” are as follows:
To assemble the side panels, 14 pieces of M3x12 screws and Ruthex M3 melt-in nuts are required each. On the underside, self-adhesive rubber buffers (max. 12 mm diameter) can also be attached, which gives the locomotive bench a non-slip stand.
