Moderno Kids Car Sedan Steering Hub Connector
Print Profile(1)

Description
Daughters moderno car steering hub broke when she steered too hard causing the hub to break apart (although it was fixable with duct tape i opted to 3d print a new one for reliability and longevity). I printed it with PLA+ Yellow filament (Can be printed with your preferred filament just keep in mind that this part can come under high tension so keep that in mind.) with 0.2mm layer height 6 walls with 25% infill gyroid. The print took about 1hr 23min to print.
Tried to find a file online but was unsuccessful (that or I could have been using the wrong search terms) and was able to design one real quick on tinker CAD and calipers on hand to measure the original broken pieces.
I made the hole large where the screw goes to make it easier to place the screw and lock nut (that came with the car) which also allowed me to fit my wrench in to lock down the lock nut.
I split the part in half in order for me to insert it without having to take the car apart since there is a kink bend in the steering bar. I included a notch in the part to accommodate the zip tie to help keep the two parts together. The zip tie and the screw will help keep the two halves together and does not interfere with the operation of the vehicle.
I designed it with tight tolerances so some sanding is recommended to help with fitment and also to allow for removal with the help of a plier and flat head screw driver if needed.
I hope you like my design and found it helpful. Happy travels for your little ones.
