Description

If you like this model and it's not too much trouble, please hit the 👍 button - it helps out a lot 😀

This is a MTG inspired Black Lotus. There are 2 different models. One lotus flower with a separate bud and one lotus flower without a bud and smaller petals instead.

Please be aware, there is quite a bit of support structure for the flower's base, so you may need to clean it up a little. Mine wasn't too bad and I don't really care all that much because the backside won't be visible. Regardless, the supports for the lotus flower are built in to the profiles as they were manually painted on to ensure a successful print. There are 2 print profiles for each model that has the stem included:

  • A high quality profile set at 0.08mm layer height
  • A fast profile set at 0.16mm layer height

The profiles are also set to print by object instead of by layer. This makes having parts different colors a breeze!

For the model with the separate bud:

  • For the bud's holes, I just (poorly) used a 1mm drill bit to simulate the bud's pores
  • For the bud's ‘branches’, just bent them up to make it look more organic
  • to attach the bud to the flower, I used a dab of super glue
