Description

I modeled quite a few of the Hirobo rc vintage cars and chassis. And I have a few of them. One thing with the plain old tires is that keeping the car on the wheels makes them flat after some time. To solve this, I store them on supports. Andd since I have the chassis models in CAD (or at least one of each family), I could designed some supports easy to print in PLA to put the cars on display on the shelf without any risk for flats on the tires…

I also designed logos too put next to each cars with Hirobo logo, that could be printed easily in 2 colors with an AMS. Fonts are approximative or at least in the spirit of the model and the original naming display.

In the 3MF file, I put the support corresponding to the name plates on a print plate for each series of cars :

  1. Zerda, Alien and Invader - the support has an indication ZAI and an arrow to in the front center to indicate the orientation.
  2. 44B Long wheel base : Rock'nCity 44B, Rock'nVega 44B, Lancia44B - Support is marked as 44B-L and arrow indicates front orientation
  3. 44B Short wheel base : Hilux 44B - Support is marked as 44B-S and arrows indicate front orientation
  4. Bearcat, Tomcat : Bearcat, Bearcat SS and Tomcat. Same principle apply for the support with the arrow indicating the front

Refer to the pictures in the publication to see how to use the support. The Bearcat/BearcatSS and Tomcat support has some tabs at the rear, they are going right next to the roll cage central fixation.

Name plates have been kept separate from the support for 2 reasons :

  • save printing time and material with optimal orientation for the printing of each part
  • allow to display the name the way we want next to the car

Among the 1/10 offroad hirobo cars, unfortunately, I don't have the Hirobo Jealousy 4WD, so I can't prepare a support for it, and as a result I did not prepare a name plate for it.

File for Car models on the pictures are not in this publication.
