eSUN G1 Clips (Cardboard Spool) - AMS Friendly
Print Profile(5)

Description
This model started because I was unable to find esun filament clips online that are AMS and EIBOS Polyphemus rotary function compatible. So I decided to design my own from the ground up.
Update NEW* V3 / G1 eSun Cardboard Spool Clips: Based on community feedback, I completely redesigned the pegs to be compliant, and allow some flex for easy clip insertion and removal. I also optimized the filament grabbing portion of the part for a snap fit to 1.735mm (no more loose/tight fit profiles).
Spool Compatibility Note: This is for the cardboard spool only, if you are looking for the cardboard spool, please download the eSUN plastic spool clip here
Enjoy, and share your results. If you encounter issues please let me know, and I will do what I can to help.
Features:
- Removable Some clips have so much friction you cannot remove them without breaking the prongs, these are removable
- Ultra lightweight at ~1.3g per clip
- Perfectly sized to fit 1.75mm filament without squishing it
- Tested: Tested on 10+ cardboard esun spools (PLA and PETG-HF), Compatible with AMS, AMS Lite, and Eibos Polyphemus Rotary Function
- One print profile: One profile for PLA and PETG clips, tested on esun PLA, Bambu PLA, and Bambu PETG-HF
- Prints without Brim, if you run into print failures add a brim, but filament clips have much less cleanup without brims.
Print and Assembly Notes:
- Suggest Printing test print to validate the filament tightness sizing before a larger batch.
- You only need 1-2 clips per spool.
- For AMS suggest only placing clips on the right side of the spool, one top and one bottom.
- For AMS Lite suggest only placing 2 clips on outside of the spool (when loaded to AMS). one top and one bottom.
- The pressfit is snug, so you may need to gently apply some extra force with needle nose pliers to insert the pegs into the cardboard spools.
Print Profile Notes:
Nozzle: Suggest 0.4mm nozzle for precision fit
Wall Loops: 2 wall loops on 0.4mm nozzle, 0.6mm nozzle not recommended due to decreased layer adhesion.
Layer Height: Suggest 0.16 or 0.20mm to maximize strength (0.16mm default)
Infill: No infill used.
Brim: default no brim, if you get failures switch to 2.5mm brim
Material: PETG or PLA
Color: Any
Print Orientation: Print with filament clip area face down as seen in 3mf file
