Description

Checkers in a Tin - No AMS Needed!

Do you love Checkers but want a more portable version? Do you wish to trick your enemy with an unassuming Altoid tin, but when you open it you are thrown into a Checkers match? Or do you just want it because it's funny? Well… here ya go, I guess! This insert includes a miniature Checkers board with slots for the pieces, which have pegs on them to prevent slipping.

It is simple to put together; All you need is your printed insert and pieces, and a little double-sided tape or glue!

Printing instructions:

If you do not have an AMS, use the no_ams profile. When you print the insert, wait for the pause in the print (if it is not already in the profile, you will need to add a pause before the final layer). When it happens, swap out the filament to a different color. Since the squares are 1 layer taller, they will be printed in the new color and create the checker pattern.

If you have an AMS, use the ams profile and let it run. It will print by object meaning there should only be about 3 color changes. I even made it prioritize the lighter colors first so the colors don't bleed :)

Assembly instructions:

1. Clean your tin to remove the mint debris. I used hand soap and scrubbed it out with my hand.

2. Apply tape/glue to the bottom of the insert. I used some 3M double sided tape.

3. Align it using the rim of the tin.

4. Simply let go and it should drop perfectly in place! You may need to push it to make sure it's firmly attached.

Enjoy using the element of surprise as a battle strategy in checkers!
