I designed this lamp awhile back but finally ready to share with you guys. Printed in silver petg from Giantarm https://amzn.to/3YmAB6I and overture clear petg https://amzn.to/3UzeJnB for the rings to allow light to shine through

The piston head requires zero supports on the wrist pin opening only on the 4 valve relief cuts on top (they can be a pain to remove, i have perfected the support settings yet, so you may need to play with them). The rod it will require supports at the base where the rod bearing would ride. The led light stirp i use is from Walmart cheapest I've found, even better than amazon. Better Homes & Gardens USB Powered 6.5FT Sound Reactive Color Changing Tape Light for Indoor Use - Walmart.com The 3mf file should be ready to go when loaded unless you want to play with support and infill settings. installing the led light can be a little bit of a pain. you need to affix the head and rod together with the wrist pin first. the led strip feeds up through the bottom of the rod. i attach about a 10" piece of filament to the strip to help feed and fish it out the top. the strip follows along the inside of the piston all the way around and should sit just above the top ring as to not cover it up so the light can pass through, passes through the rod to wrap around the other side. once thats done the rod attaches to the base with 2 nuts.

Is this a multicolor printer file or can it be done on a single color printer?

it is multi but can absolutely be printed in 1 color. just simple delete all color but silver in the slicer. by default, the rings are transparent so the light glows through them.

Appreciate your download. I have a few other things if you scroll through my profile. I have a few more things designed that I hope to get loaded here in the next month or so. I own and operate a small hot rod restoration shop so it's kind of my thing. But I've only recently started designing so it's all a big learning curve.
