Description
Hello, I was tired of sanding my rims with the Dremel. Half the time, I would damage them, changing the shape of the rim. Not to mention the noise of the Dremel and the dust.
Finished with this tool, the shape of the rim is respected, no risk of damaging it, the sanding is clean, easy, fast and the tire sticks well! Provided that you clean well after sanding, personally I clean with acetone.
Just add a piece of self-adhesive Velcro (the part with the stiff bristles) on both sides, and attach small strips of sandpaper (I chose 80) Velcro designed to be normally attached to sanding blocks (also called sanding shoes) to the Velcro. Here are the links to the items I chose:
Velcro: https://www.amazon.fr/dp/B0CGZCK2W5?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1
Sandpaper: https://www.amazon.fr/dp/B01JAAOB2S?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title
Of course you can put the Velcro and the paper you want, you can also stick sandpaper directly, even if I advise against it.
For printing, no need for support, PLA, 0.2mm, 2 walls, 15% infill
NB: For 6mik rims, you will need to think about attaching wider strips to penetrate the inside of the small notch. That's the advantage of attaching them to Velcro ;-)
I hope this tool will be as useful to you as it is to me who recovers and glues a lot of tires! Don't hesitate to tell me in the comments any suggestions for modifications.
Enjoy !
