Description

Multi-size hangblock with 25, 20, 15 & 10mm grips plus a finger hold. Just need a piece of rope/paracord and you're ready to get training for that project.

Material: Any reasonably stiff and sturdy material will do, I have used PLA Basic and it has turned out great. ABS, PETG or even using TPU for a softer surface finish on a multi-material print would work.

Strength: Although the profile only uses 25% infill, the 5 wall layers provide significant strength for it's weight. I am heavier than most climbers my size and I have had no issues.

Printing: As mentioned this profile uses 25% infill, 5 walls and is also printed at 2.5mm layer height. Print time is about 3hrs and 40min with fuzzy skin. With PLA Basic you can get a matt finish if you slow down the print and lower the nozzle temperature which may improve the friction on the grips.

The model provided is 120x120mm which provides grip areas of 25x100mm which is quite large and would be good for people with large hands. If you you want a smaller size you can scale the dimensions down to suit your own hands, this will reduce print time significantly as well with a 100x100mm print being only 2hrs 50min. I used a full size print but I could quite easily get away with the 100x100mm scale. I will upload a smaller version with 100mmx100mm dimensions outright also.

Issues: The only issue I've had is the text coming out a little wonky from the fuzzy skin but it is still very readable and could be fixed with a modifier in the slicer.

I printed two of them in PETG Translucent for practice, they seem sturdy and the result is truly amazing I already have two other similar wooden objects but this one seems really well made, I'll soon run some tests on it to see how much it withstands It would be nice to be able to print other training objects, like cones, cylinders, and balls, which are used in OCR I hope you will design those too 😁 Thank you very much for the project, well-deserved boost 🔝💪

printed perfect even the number were legible. did it on my p1s, but couldn’t get the first layers to print nicely unless I slowed it down to about half speed on everything.
