Description
Here's the latest design in hall effect thruster. This type of space engine helps satellite like SpaceX's Starlink to maintain their orbit and even change it if needed. It has been used for decades, primarily by the soviet union's satellites. It is a very unique and beautiful project. You can even turn it into the coolest home diffuser if you'd like. It can give a really special look to your mancave and it sure will attract some curious eyes.
This 6 plates 34 hours project only requires a small amount of support. I used the translucent PETG already needed for this project as a support for the PLA. This means you don't need to buy any support filament and the results are amazing. 3 types of filament and two types of plate have been used to print the model on the pictures. You will also need a fan and a mist maker, links below. Glue is strongly recommended.
Here's a list of everything you need to create your own thruster:
- Mat Black PLA, #11101Bambu Lab filament;
- Bronze basic PLA, #10801 Bambu Lab filament;
- Translucent PETG, #32101 Bambu Lab filament;
- Textured plate for PLA prints (the three first plates);
- High temperature plate for PETG translucent (the three last plates);
- Glue, in my case Bambu Lab liquid glue (I absolutely love this product).
