The Engine Piston Lamp is a striking blend of industrial design and practical illumination. Inspired by the mechanics of an engine piston, this unique desk lamp serves as both a functional light source and an eye-catching centerpiece for any workspace. Since purchasing the LED Lamp Kit-MH001, I’ve been searching for ideas for a unique project, and the opportunity arose with a competition. Many people have already shown interest in this design, and I hope you enjoy it as well! The Engine Piston Lamp embodies the spirit of innovation, making it a must-have for automotive enthusiasts and design aficionados alike.

Materials:
For the production of this lamp, I used Silk PLA and matte PLA

 

Printing Tips:

  • Variable layer height was used in several places. It's especially important to print the threads at a layer height of 0.08 mm for smooth operation.
  • Supports are required for the "Rod" and "Piston" parts. Remember to remove them and clean the areas where supports were attached thoroughly. This is particularly important for the "Rod" part—sanding may be necessary since this area will later be covered by another component.
  • I reduced the print speed for parts made with Silk PLA due to the properties of the material I have available.
  • Additionally, a brim was added to the taller components to enhance stability during printing.
