Thinking of Setting Up Your Own Escape Room?
You're probably looking for clever ways to keep your escape room players entertained as long as possible.
I’ve designed this cryptex, which is basically a combination lock, perfect for your players to use their problem-solving skills. Plus, it has a very attractive look.
The cryptex has 5 keys, with several design options:
- Keys with Mayan symbols.
- Keys with vowels.
- Keys with numbers, from 1 to 5 and 6 to 0.
- Blank piece for your own creativity.
You can also play with symbols and colors on each ring.
You can set the desired combination when assembling the cryptex, and it will only open with that combination.
Assembly Instructions:
Firmly glue the “Closing” and “Inner Core” to the “Stop1".

It’s important that the “Inner Core” teeth face the notch on the “Stop1.”

Attach the “Selector Ring” to the rings with the keys; no need to glue them. The notch on the “Selector Ring” indicates the chosen key on the ring.

Insert all the rings with the “Selector Ring” into the “External Core,” paying attention to the orientation. The “Selector Ring” should be on top; if placed upside down, it won’t turn. After the rings, place the Separator.

Glue the “External Core,” with all the rings and the separator, to “Stop2.” Make sure the notch aligns with the groove on the “External Core.”

Assembly Complete: Connect the two pieces, turn the rings, and your cryptex is locked. It will only open with the combination selected during assembly.
