Lithophane HD Moon Lamp with LED Strip option
Print Profile(3)

Description
This is based on Frank Deschner Moon lamp, DasLukas adapter and Kristian HD Moon
As I already have printed a few of them, I was looking for a option to use a LED strip and get a even higher quality print.
So I used Kristian HD version, which is build on way higher detail data. The moon itself is about 20 cm in diameter.
Recommended settings, also see print profiles:
- brim in- and outside 10mm
- 6 walls and 100% infill
- optional variable layer height (will dramatically increase printing time)
- no support
Variable layer height will result in a high quality print, but will take 2-3 days of printing.
For a faster print don't activate it, quality will still be ok, but the print will “only” take 28h.
I highly recommend to make a test-print of the upper moon part first.
So you can check your filament settings, before wasting days of printing.
My print profiles already contain this test part.
It should print fine without support, if not try to dial in your filament settings (see calibration in bambu studio).
Also slowing down the print speed at the end can help.
Also use bambu slicer desktop version, the print profile is massive and often won't work, when send by app.
Slicing and sending could take up to 30min, depending your setup.
Light Options (only use LED for heat reasons)
- E14 socket (affiliate link) use the 60mm height base, to have enough room for the socket
- 2m LED strip (eg bluetooth, matter (affiliate links)) use one of the bases and the cylinder
(photo shows prototype, model will be 1cm taller to fit the whole strip) - have a look at the links at the start for more options
