SovietWorld War IIdeveloped a type of heavy tank.
This tank weighed 46.5 tons, had a crew of four, and was armed with a 122mm gun, one 12.7mm anti-aircraft machine gun and three 7.62mm machine guns. The power unit was a 520 hp water-cooled diesel engine. The tank's hull and turret had sloped armor protection and the side and rear protection was comprehensively strengthened. The proportion of armor to the overall combat weight was among the highest of tanks in the world.
