Dyson Vorwerk Vacuum Adapter

This adapter allows you to connect a Dyson vacuum cleaner to a pipe from an older Vorwerk vacuum cleaner, making it possible to reuse some well-designed and useful Vorwerk attachments.

The adapter consists of a main body and a button, which is required to attach it to the Dyson. These parts need to be assembled. The assembly is straightforward; an additional spring is needed, and a pen spring works perfectly but probably you have to cut it.

This model is a remix of two other projects:

• A Karcher-Vorwerk vacuum adapter, from which I used the Vorwerk-specific part.
• A Dyson-Miele vacuum adapter, from which I took the Dyson-specific part and modified it slightly. I removed the need for a paperclip for the hinge and replaced it with a “click” insertion.

I printed the adapter using PLA filament, using a different color for the main body and the button.

In the print profile, I used a 0.4 nozzle and a 0.12mm layer to achieve greater precision for the smallest features, like holes and pins for inserting the button. I also used support, which is recommended, even though it can sometimes be tricky to remove.
