Description

laisch original LPSH - Low Profile Spoolholder (sidemounted for AMS) gave the inspiration of this rework using his concept.

 

Read in the original post's comments section, that as it gets closer to an empty spool

the holder tends to push the roll out its place >> I tried to place the spring loaded pair

of rollers offset and above the centre line of the spool something like this:

This version main body and sliders prints separately with a cover plate for each Left and Right hand side.

 

There is two versions for both the main body and for both the sliders;

 

1, with the Voron recommended M3x6x4.2 (need around 19-20 off them) heat inserts to be used on the M3 connectors and springs

2, with the classic m3 hexagonal nuts instead of the heat inserts

 

In both cases the rollers M5 bolts secured with nylock / normal M5 nut.

 

additionally there is an A1 spool holder filament guide inspired filament guide :) for the M8 and M9 threaded

PTFE tube connector select the preferred main body. The guide assembled can be fitted to the main body with 2No. M3x16 to up to 20 long screws.

 

The “ball joint” can be fitted with a single M3x25 to up to 40 mm long screw.

 

Rollers will need 4No. M5x30 to 40 mm long screws, washers and nylock nuts plus 2No. F625-ZZ (5x16x5 Flanged) Bearings on each roller wheel.

 

The main body cover plates will need 8No. M3x12. Both marked Left (L) and Right (R).

 

The springs (possibly 1 per each slides is enought) could be fitted with M3x8, you will need 4 or 8 off them - depends on the strength you want to achieve.

 

The Left and Right sliders will require some support under the arm section, but the rest of the parts can be printed without support.

 

in the 3mf file included an AMS clamp for the 43mm spaced ribs. For the larger spaced AMS unit you can use the original upload “large clamp” file. The clamps will need some M3x20-25 screws and same amount of hex nuts.
