Description
Differences of the remix compared to the original
Added a bit more meat to the wider side of the adapter, so the model can be printed at a 45 degree angle. I have also beef'ed up the intake screen to account for the loss of strength from rotating the model. The goal was to reduce the amount of supports needed to print the model which leads to less materials and more smooth surfaces.
Of the two files the original author shared, the one I have edited is 3m_filter_cover_2.stl.
Below is the comparison of the amount of filament required and the surface finish you will achieve with each combination of model/orientation. Note my slicer settings may be different from yours, and there could be small discrepancies.
| Model | Orientation (deg) | Filament (model + supports = total, g) | Finish | Print Time |
| Original | 0 | 30.74 + 13.41 = 44.15 | Rough | 1h37m |
| Original | 180 | 30.85 + 24.03 = 54.89 | Clean | 1h50m |
| Remix | 45 | 31.99 + 1.64 = 33.63 | Mostly clean | 2h3m |

Add a support blocker to the top ⅔ of the model. The slice preview should look like the screenshot below:
