Description

Updated Version available (V6):
https://makerworld.com/en/models/1416545-slim-wallet-v6-print-in-place#profileId-1471135

--------------

A print-in-place slim wallet that offers space for 7 cards.

I have frequently been asked if I can make a version of my silm wallet v5 with cash drawer just for cards without space for cash. So here is a version without the drawer, which makes the wallet much thinner.

This is the Version of Slim Wallet (V5) WITHOUT DRAWER!

The version with a drawer for cash: https://makerworld.com/en/models/697590#profileId-626646

  • New Version: better diameters of the springs so they don´t break
  • cards snap in and they don´t fall out as before
  • I rounded the corners a bit to make it feel better
  • it´s only 11mm thick
  • It´s print in place
  • has place for up to 7 card

Good print, very simple, but make sure to measure your cards beforehand. The first time I printed it, none of my cards fit inside, so I had to upscale the print by around 3%. I wander if this is a regional thing and our card sizes are different, but once I adjusted the size to match my cards everything worked perfectly. Sure, it's a bit finicky if you flick it too hard, but it's good overall for PLA printing.

I tried it with 7 cards, a mixture of eftpos, credit and store cards. They all fit perfectly. I'm in New Zealand, our cards are 85x54mm. I printed it in PETG.

I printed it in PLA - worked beautifully. It's an effective design that does what it needs to. Only issue was that one of the little "paddles" already loosened and snapped off. It lasted about a week though.

I immediately snapped one of the paddles while fitting cards in. I'm using matte PLA so it might be part of the problem. Seems like a weak spot though

same here. with PLA basic it lasted a couple of months. with PLA matte it lasted 2min

Printed well and smooth in PLA matte grey but the layer adhesion on the tabs was not very strong and they broke soon after causing me to have to super glue them together. I assume this would be less of a problem with PETG or ABS? Any tips though on how to get the tabs to print in PLA without breaking off or am I totally limited by the material properties and design constraints? Would it be possible to print this sideways and successfully remove any supports?

Matte PLA has worse layer adhesion. you could try basic PLA. I printed one in basic PLA and it is still holding up.

Flap broke immediately on the layer line. Maybe print it sideways. Edit: second flap also broke shortly after

Yep printed 4 of these and two tabs broke while installing the cards. Maybe a sold area needed instead of the hollow area there. I am only one week new to this and loving it. Now need to start trying to build myself

But with some Positivity. The cards still stay in place. So I will hold out from making new. Side note. The orange PLA that came with Bambu p1s still is perfect but the gray ones I just done in PLA+ from micro center filament broke

there is a very distinct difference in glossyness at the bottom and it was quite difficult to get the cards out at first. but overall working and fun print!

Not the fault of the profile, but I had adhesion issues with my bed. The only real problem is that I can't fit any of my cards in the wallet lol! My debit and DL won't go in. It's simply not wide enough

Without any problem, I can even fit a 1.5mm thick 3D printed card in it
