Module Wars 2030 Series Homepage_Updated to v1.11
Print Profile(8)

Description
A freely assemblable unmanned warfare machine, featuring a modular design where all kits are interchangeable. The modular design is based on speculated future (2030) evolutions of unmanned combat machinery. While some designs are already present, their widespread adoption may take several years. We encourage interested parties to engage in discussions and point out any design flaws, whether concerning the model or printing aspects. Enjoy!

One. Design Overview:
A self-assembling war machine, all parts are modular with a 1:20 scale. Parts connect via snap-fits, with three different types for three module categories.
Two. Part Overview:
Parts are categorized into five types: heavy, medium, light, micro, and special modules.
2.1 Heavy Modules
Among the three components, heavy modules require the most filament (main shaft), have the longest print time, and possess the highest structural strength.
2.1.0 Heavy Module Connections
2.1.1 Main Shaft
2.1.1.1 Basic Main Shaft

1A Main Shaft

2A Main Shaft
The main shaft serves as the vehicle's connecting component, housing the battery, motherboard, and some connecting circuits (internal structures added later).
Main shafts come in 1A and 2A types, where 'A' represents a unit volume within this system. The 1A main shaft's print dimensions are 20mm*20mm*12mm (LWH), corresponding to real-world dimensions (1:20 scale) of 40cm*40cm*24cm.
The 2A main shaft is double the length of the 1A, with other dimensions remaining unchanged.
The main shaft module can connect to 2 medium or 4 light modules
2.1.1.2 Hollow Main Shaft (V1.5 Update)
The main shaft is hollowed out, each 'A' shaft features two internal structure slots, enhancing realism and playability. Dimensions and other elements remain unchanged.

2.1.1.3 1A Explosive

In the Russo-Ukrainian conflict, suicide FPV drones are widely used. Disregarding other factors, simply put, what's more powerful than one lump of explosives is likely two. Therefore, this special 1A main shaft is designed with explosives replacing the infill material. At 40cm*40cm*24cm, the explosive power should be substantial. An exclamation point is added above the model for better identification.
The 1A explosive module can connect to 2 light modules at the bottom
2.1.2 Head Components
2.1.2.1 Sensor Head

The first general-purpose head. The sensor head references the head design of Boston Dynamics' robot dog, with recesses for sensors and upper circuit connections to the main shaft (decorative). During custom part printing, ensure the side with circuit patterns is the base (as shown above).
2.1.2.2 Improved Medium Head (V1.4 Update)

A significantly improved sensor head, connecting to the heavy module using a rearward angled snap-fit to maintain head integrity. It enhances the head's ability to secure other components; pairing it with the improved tail effectively prevents module slippage. Small cameras are placed on the top and sides for vision and obstacle avoidance, and a simple solid-state LiDAR (ToF, square part) is added to the front for close-range (0-10m) environment detection. During custom module printing, ensure the side with the solid-state LiDAR is the base. A micro-interface is added to the upper right of the module.
This module can connect to 1 heavy module and 1 micro module (standard camera module).
2.1.2.3 Improved Lightweight Head (V1.3 Update)

A lightweight version of the improved head, removing the upper and side armor for enhanced vehicle agility. The upper micro-interface is removed.
This module can connect to 1 heavy module.
2.1.2.4 Improved Ultralight Head (V1.4 Update)

An ultralight improved head, removing the front protrusion for lower production costs (shorter print time) and the more expensive solid-state LiDAR, replaced with simple ultrasonic or single-point laser ranging for front obstacle avoidance.
This module can connect to 1 heavy module.
2.1.2.4 Signal Tracking Ultralight Head (V1.7 Update)

2.1.2.5 Optical Ultralight Head (V1.8)

2.1.2.6 Armored Optical Ultralight Head (V1.9)

2.1.3 Tail
2.1.3.1 Antenna Tail

The first general-purpose tail. Increases signal strength and transmission distance for unmanned vehicles.
2.1.3.2 Improved Antenna Tail (V1.3 Update)

A slightly modified antenna tail, increasing module height and adding a folding clip to secure other modules. Combined with the improved head, it prevents module slippage. A micro-slot is added above, defaulting to 1* Electronic Deception Module.
2.1.3.3 Directional Antenna Tail (V1.4 Update)

An improvement on the improved antenna tail, changing from an omnidirectional antenna to a directional antenna for increased vehicle stealth. Suitable for vehicles requiring high stealth, such as remote-controlled suicide vehicles. A tail hook is added to assist two-wheeled micro-vehicles in standing.
2.1.3.4 Reconnaissance Tail (V1.6 Update)

2.1.3.5 Ammunition Mount Tail (V1.10)

2.1.4 Internal Components
2.1.4.1 Basic Internal Structure Set

2.1.4.2 Generator Internal Structure Kit (Extended Range Internal Structure Set)

2.2 Medium Modules
The V1.0 version includes few medium modules, namely the Medium Armor and Medium Wheel Bearing (standard 14-inch wheel).
V1.2 adds the Multipurpose Drone Kit (medium module).
Medium modules have lower filament requirements, print times, and structural strength than heavy modules but higher than light modules.
2.2.0 Medium Module Connections
2.2.1 Medium Armor Block

A medium armor block increasing vehicle defense, mitigating damage to a certain extent.
2.2.2 Medium Wheel Axle and 14-Inch Wheel

A 14-inch wheel (approximately 24mm in model size) and corresponding medium connecting axle. The axle is universal, but using a 10-inch wheel will result in insufficient ground clearance. 14-inch wheels can be used on light wheel axles.
2.2.3 Multipurpose Drone Kit (Multifunctional Drone Kit)

The Multipurpose Drone Kit consists of 2* multipurpose attack drones and 1* multipurpose drone charging base.
Each multipurpose drone has 3 ammunition interfaces for 60mm grenades (attack), telephoto camera modules (increased aerial reconnaissance range), or battery packs (increased endurance), adapting to various mission types.
Its size is between DJI's M30 and Mavic 3, with design dimensions of 440mm*420mm (W*L, without propellers, print size 22mm*21mm). With a directional antenna, the operational range should be around 10 kilometers.
The multipurpose attack drone's design is as follows: 1. The unmanned vehicle directly drops it onto a relatively clear ground; 2. The drone automatically deploys its suspension arm and propellers to become parallel to the ground; 3. Since the propellers will not contact the ground at this time, takeoff should be feasible; 4. Execute the mission and return (if it can); 5. Land near the vehicle and fold the suspension arm; 6. Use a magnetic suction sling to attach to the bottom for recovery (this component is too small, probably not feasible); 7. Use the charging module to charge and prepare for the next mission.
Each drone charging module occupies 1* medium slot.
2.2.4 Light Machine Gun Kit (V1.9)

2.2.5 Modular Rifle Kit (V1.10)

2.3 Light Modules
Light modules require the least filament and print time, but also have the lowest structural strength.
2.3.0 Light Module Connections
2.3.1 Light Armor
2.3.1.1 Light Armor and Light Half-Armor

Light Armor Module
