Description

what's new?

-redesigned the funnel to prevent coins from getting stuck. just move the coins inside the funnel to make them slide into the slot and fill the tank for smooth sorting. I had some sporadic jamming of some two euro coins inside the tank. just shake the tool to release the coin and resume sorting.

- every now and then the coins came out of the slots. I narrowed the slots and added some marks with the corresponding value of coins inside

if you have already printed the old version, just reprint the coin cylinders and the funnel

changelog

19/04/25:  I've been listening to the community and as of today a new print profile for crank, knob and small gear is available for download. They have a slightly different geometry and higher tolerances although to work properly the gear needs to be pushed hard into the upper ring. you may need to use a little bit of glue to fix the crank in the gear

Excellent project, I printed a modification as a coin silo! My only suggestion would be to add the coin denomination to each coin tube at the top and on the base, greatly simplifying assembly and disassembly! Additionally, a directional arrow on the knob to indicate the correct rotation would be beneficial! Attached are photos of the modifications Thank you

Bro Upload it the silo somewhere, because with the original one it’s better not to use the machine but to sort your coins manually.

A considerable disappointment. The screws broke while attempting assembly, and even when manually rotated, coins constantly get stuck.

It works for me The button on the rotary switch doesn’t quite fit, but that’s a minor issue If the coins get stuck, you might want to deburr the holes I also used PLA filament from Sunlu

Fantastic design! My son had a lot of fun playing with it, and it works very well overall. The sorting mechanism operates quite smoothly. I did face some challenges while assembling the crank, but a bit of sanding and filing solved the issue without much trouble. The only minor issue I encountered is that it's easy to accidentally rotate the crank in the wrong direction, which causes all the coins to fall into the 5 euro slot. Adding a mechanical feature to prevent rotation in the wrong direction would be a fantastic improvement. Overall, this is an excellent design. Thank you so much for sharing it!

I added a second gear because I tend to turn it in the wrong direction. Since then, the error has occurred less frequently.

I experienced exactly the same thing - printed them twice with different filament to see if it made a difference and it didn't

I enlarged the hole in the handle and the thick plate, then it worked

Strength Issue:if I try to put it together it doesn't work
Other Issues:probably tolerances to tight

Same problem, does anyone have a solution to make this print usable

I increased the infill density and lightly sanded the lever; then it fit perfectly, but could no longer be removed

It prints very well and the updated handle and crank work well! However the coins do tend to get stuck in the hopper from time to time. I believe the one that was shown by @MauryX88 makes the feed better as it will feed everything flat. Also noticed that 20 and 10 cent end up in the wrong slots sometime. It's a cool print though! Thanks for the design!

Yes with the vertical loader it works much better, but I found another flaw, which I solved by moving the silo back a few millimeters, in practice if you don't hook it all the way in the mechanism works almost 100%

i like it. i use it. but the funnel is Not Great. i Endes up placing the coins on the Ramp one After the Other. also you Need force to assemble and disassemble and Trust me, you have to disassemble it because of the funnel. or to Change tubes….

The print was highly successful. The settings yielded excellent results for me. I enabled tree supports only for critical areas. I directly replaced the new crank parts. Due to the single-color print, I placed all parts on a single plate. After 9.5 hours and 276g of filament, the print was complete. Assembly of the individual parts proved straightforward. Unfortunately, however, the functionality of the sorting device is not yet fully developed. The least satisfactory aspect is the performance of the funnel. If one simply pours in a handful of coins, they almost invariably land on the wrong side and do not slide into the slot. If the entire device is shaken, most coins turn to the correct side. Copper coins tend to directly block the slot in the funnel, a 50Ct coin became jammed in the lower part of the funnel, and 1€ coins tend to end up in the 50Ct compartment

Did I miss something, or is the 1 Cent tubes scale off by a few coins? The 0,1 mark is more on the 0,13 position.

Nice project but it jams instantly with the big coins. The silo design is far from perfect, also too complicated and make the coins stuck inside.
