Update 29/12/2024:
All additional hardware required has been moved to the Maker's Supply section. This means some components used has been updated in the building instructions. The full list of replaced parts is listed below.
- M2 x 10 Phillips head screw → M2x10 BHCS Machine Screw (AA164)
- 2 x 5mm neodymium magnet → D5x2mm Round Magnet (CA006)
A 1:40 scale replica of the M1 Abrams main battle tank. Remote controlled functions include independent tracks and a traversable turret. You will need 1 kg of black PLA, brown PLA and 95A TPU for the tracks. I also used a bit of red PLA for the taillights but this is optional. Building instructions can be downloaded in the files section.
This model is quite challenging to make and I would highly recommend getting yourself familiar with Arduino and electronics first before attempting it. You would also need a soldering iron since many of the parts need to be soldered to reduce space. I have also developed a simple Android app for the remote controller.
