Description

JD Fat Guitar Pick

Ergonomic pick for jazz & heavy metal

  • Very fast to print
  • Thick and wide luxury pick
  • Sloping tip for precision (but not so thin as to break)
  • Wider contact point makes the sound softer/fuller
  • Custom modeled in Blender
  • Thumb indentation for improved grip and control
  • Blank back; add your own name or logo here

Okay, so full transparency: I'm mainly a finger-style player, but when I use a pick, my choice is primarily hardwood plectrums.

However, I couldn't find any other 3D printable picks with this thickness and ergonomic shape, so I made my own.

If you're a guitar player, try this pick - it sits in your hand like my wooden picks, but it sounds more metallic if printed in PLA, with a bit softer sound if printed in PETG/PETG-HF. It lasts very well too, for a 3D printed guitar pick.

I currently don't have any wood-fiber filament, but I would LOVE to hear from someone who has, if it affects the sound. I'm looking for the rounded tone of my hardwood plectrums/picks, which are always a hassle to order, and they're fairly expensive so whenever one is lost, I cry a little inside.

I'm not a jazz player, but for speed play (in heavy metal and the like), this pick is actually very nice - due to its rigidness, it's highly controllable.
