Description
This tripod ring is compatible with the Canon EF100mm F2.8 L MACRO lens. Based on my actual use, both stability and strength satisfy me. Previously, I was also concerned about the strength issue, so I designed the thickness to be relatively large and used larger fillets at stress-concentrated corners to further enhance strength and rigidity.
The weight of this lens combined with the camera body is not heavy (compared to those large telephoto lenses), and this tripod ring provides reliable support.
Material Recommendations:
It is recommended to use PETG or higher strength materials, such as ABS, nylon, PETG-CF, etc. PLA is not recommended, as its durability and strength are slightly lower, and there may be risks with long-term use. I personally use PETG.
Quick Release Plate:
To ensure strength, the base is directly designed as a quick release plate. The most common Arca-Swiss standard is used, which is one of the most popular quick release plate standards currently, widely applied to various cameras and tripods. Its design is simple and highly versatile, and many brands adopt this standard. The Marsace tripod head I use conforms to this standard.
Assembly Recommendations:
- Locking Screws: M5*20 Hex Bolt
- Hinge: M4*20 Screw
A slight sanding may be needed at the hinge to ensure precise fitting. If the screw holes are too tight, you can use an appropriate drill bit to clean the surface.
