Description

I present to you the 3D printed Centrifugal Pump.

All parts were created using PLA and TPU for the two gaskets. The pump has been tested and does actually work. The impeller shaft was modeled to fit a 17mm socket and powered by a drill of some fashion. I am currently working a remix of this that will be able to be powered by compressed air as well. There are two pauses when printing the housing, the first is to insert the square nuts for the lower plate assembly, the second is for inserting the square nuts for the upper inlet assembly.

The following components were purchased from Amazon:

Bearing - [12 Pack]6001-2RS Ball Bearings – Bearing Steel and Double Rubber Sealed Miniature Deep Groove Ball Bearings for Motor (12mm x 28mm x 8mm)

Socket Head Cap Screws - 100pcs M3 x 12mm 12.9 Grade Alloy Steel Hex Socket Head Cap Screws Bolts,Black Oxide Finish

Square Nuts - 200 Pieces 304 Stainless Steel M3 Square Nuts

The impeller shaft and impeller are glued together and the bearing is press fit and glued to the bottom plate of the housing.

As always constructive criticism is appreciated. Enjoy!

It's not very practical to use. It can't suck up water; it only works when submerged. If you connect a hose or pipe, it won't draw water at all.

Great design, can you test if it works in pumping water up? can it go as high as 6ft? Also would this design work in a manual no-power situation where one would use a handcrank?

Haven't printed yet but I think this is exactly what I need to pump the water off the pool filter in the spring. I'm excited to have found it!
