Description

Bird Barbell Play Gym

Toy plate that can mount to the inside or outside of a Bird Cage.

Easy to print - can glue in pieces or utilize AMS to print them into the plate for customization.

Got into 3D Printing 10 days ago and hopefully y'all can enjoy .. and my file isn't too messed up. I have run it through a bunch of correcting software for Manifold issues - but that should all be good now. I don't think it needs any supports the way I have it laid out but software insists so I have Auto support with critical support only. I used a cloth and clamp to press in the name and parts - designed to have a slightly raised type for naming. Can easily fill or merge a white sqare block to fill those holes if you prefer.

Print includes:

Base plate (can customize name for your birds) - I like the slightlty raised name and used a clothed clamp to squeeze into place.

To edit name: You can either select the ‘Text’ and change it yourself to have printed on the plate itself… OR what I did was go into Tinkercad and make the Text object of pet's name. After selecting your font style. Export the Text as an STL. Bring into BambuStudio as a single object. Size the Text object to your preferred size. Then duplicate that object and change one of the objets to be a modifier - negative part. Move the negative object to the base plate and can adjust your height preference for if you'd like the names to be raised.

Base plate has 2x versions - one file where I added two ¼" bolts with nuts you can print - I grabbed a washer to assist with keeping the plate attached to the cage but you could easily print a flat cylinder and subtract the center.

Barbell - don't forget to get your barbell under the retainers before snapping those into place in the plate.

Barbell Retainer/Perch - Keeps the barbell from getting flung off the plate from the birds. I like to put the side with the perch on the opposite side of the stacked cogs - can orient over the perch over plate or off the edge (I've increased the radius of the perch - though my birds have no issue with the smaller ones photo'd)

Stacked Cog Rings - Can simplify the object to get rid of some of the details around the ring. I've increased the size of the rings from the version shown in the picture to have a 1¾" size for easier bird weaving in and out.

Again - brand new to 3d printing and working with CAD programs (threw myself into the fire and modeled/printed this yesterday).

My birds, Sky and Kiwi, have been so curious about it today - I stuck a piece of millet under the barbell to get them to go get familiar with the toy. The kid named the birds and then realized that Sky and Kiwi seem to be the most popular names for these type of budgies.. so bonus if you don't have to rename it at all in the first place. 😂

Please feel free to remix this, download, and share. Boost if your birdos are as happy as mine!

I'll definitely be tinkering some more with this to build upon.

I don't see a way of editing the name unfortunately

ah thanks for letting me know. might've changed something in my last export. I'll open my Tinkercad file and see if I can re-export one without and I'll setup a 3mf file that'll hopefully have an easy spot for you to change/add a name. Will get that up soon - just celebrating my Birthday 🎂🥳 + busy weekend but I'll let ya know when I have that up!

Forgot to notify I've uploaded a revised file where you can edit the name. can edit the modifier.. if you'd like to print the name separately - I'd go into Tinkercad or something where you can export the preferred text font as an object. Bring into Bambu Studio and size to how you'd like it. Duplicate and turn one of the objects into a negative part. adjust your height if you'd like the words flush with the top. 👍🏽

disappointed that I spent hours printing this and it's completely useless. I printed in PETG and it's really flimsy. The supports on the hoops just collapsed as I tried to assemble it. The parts don't seem to fit either.
