Description

A Tolerance Gauge Set to cover the vast majority of regularly needed round and hex shaped holes. These type of features generally get printed fractionally undersize (due to a number of reasons), so these gauges will allow you to quickly ascertain the correct real-world size to model into your designs and be sure the resulting fit will be a good one!

Designed with below considerations & will fit all Bambu Printers including the A1mini :)

Quick reference for most common hardware sizes: I know I am not the only one who regularly uses fixings of sizes between M2-M10 for my 3D prints, and so wanted simple reference boards for bolts and nuts that was always on hand. The HOLE gauge boards will actually cover bolts from M2 to M16, and the HEX boards are good for standard hex heads/nuts M1.6 to M10

Flush Text & Digits: Everything is printed face down on the build plate, and so text is embedded in the first few layers, which makes for a flawless look that is hardwearing. (I have also upload an embossed text option for those who don't have an AMS and wish to do a manual colour change between layer heights.)

Hole/Hex Measurement: Simply try your bolt or nut for fitment in the holes until you get the desired fit. Then just read across for the whole number and downwards for its decimal place. Use this size in your CAD model to replicate the fit on your printed part.

Display / Storage: These gauge boards could just as easily live in a drawer or on the desk, but I felt an optional stand would be the optimal way to display and keep them grab-able at all times, while looking smart too of course! The stand is printed top-side down to give a clean & smooth top surface without stair stepping, while the opposite is true for the bottom which serves to give it some extra grip :)

Very useful. Thanks for creating this. The only feedback I would provide is that the tolerance numbers for the holes don't seem be aligned with them.

Thanks for your nice feedback, there should be decimal point ahead of the those digits hence why yours seem out of alignment. Worth checking into your end if you printed via Bambu studio, but I will double check the model print profiles my end too 👍

Hmm I see them in your photos but not in the Bambu Studio. They don't appear in the other comment images either.

You are quite right! For some reason these did not import correctly for the Holes gauge board, while the Hex version had no such issues. As such, I have re-uploaded the print files and can confirm they now show the decimal points as intended. Really sorry for this problem, and thanks again for letting me know so I could sort get it fixed. Cheers, Matt

Hello I downloaded your project but despite not having a Bambu printer I still have a multicolor printer and it doesn't recognize the numbers but only the text Datum Cad Do you know if there's a reason and a possible solution Thanks

Hi, what slicer software are you using? The model file has separate bodies for the frame and the digits, but often get loaded in as one to start with, so you need to split these into separate object again.

OK I will download to see if I can find the settings / process you will need to carry out. falling this I will upload a STL file with the digit infil bodies removed that you can use directly 👍

I do not have multi-color. I strongly recommend inset text rather than raised text for an alternate version. It can be printed the same as default with or without any color changing and with less line width, retraction, stringing etc issues than raised text. The DatumCAD logo depth could also be at the same layer height to pick up the color.

Sir, I printed one Hole Gauge and discovered that your labels are misaligned. The 2mm diameter ones are all 3mm, and the 3mm diameter ones are all 4mm... Please modify it, because I love it and want to print current one.

Thanks again @alstonh for sharing this with me. I have updated the print profiles accordingly and notified any users who may have already printed. (Note: this only affected the Hole Gauge board and NOT the Hex version or stand which remain the same)
