Description

I was working on a very similar design with a kumiko interface, and happened to see the model this is remixed from, so I decided to download and remix theirs instead of reinventing the wheel.

The most obvious difference is the panel interface is a kumiko pattern, but all of the differences are as follows:

  • whole model resized to take up more space on the X1-Carbon
  • connector pins added with tapered mid-point, in case you want a fully 3D printable solution
  • beveled holes to match the connector pins on one side
  • Insert/Interface panel redesigned to use kumiko pattern

For the connector pins, they're not a super tight fit when printed on the X1C, so I have the pins super-glued in both sides.

*Edit

I created a base for the moss pole with threaded stakes to hold your pole in place. There are two different sized stakes 5.5 inches and 9 inches. I would still recommend using super glue to hold the pole to the base - especially if you're putting more than 1 or 2 poles tall on top of it. You don't need to glue the stakes into the base. you can just screw them in.

it looks like that moss pole you printed may be this one? https://makerworld.com/en/models/827471?from=search#profileId-771299 it looks similar, but wouldn't be compatible with the base I made for this one

id really appreciate it. that will make this a super good print. really hard for me to use it like this unless I bury one or 2 pieces. a 6 8 and 12 option might be ideal..appreciate you. thanks

so, I kind of over-engineered a solution. The base has 3 holes to use the existing pins to hold the moss pole to the base, but there are 3 threaded holes in between those to screw in the threaded stakes. Two different size options 5.5 inches and about 9 inches. Kind of hard to get precise sizes in blender. but hopefully that should work for your needs.

this is perfect. the only thing I didn't think about. you need a bottom on your base. so that the moss has somewhere to "stop"

can you make a base for this to mount into the soil. maybe 6 to 12 inches? I'd be super appreciative
