Description

I needed an easy way to test my support settings when it comes to actually removing the supports from your prints. Especially when they are difficult to remove.

This test print is primarily for you to test the different values / results of your Top Z Distance setting in your Slicer Support Settings.

There are individual STL files that correspond to different values you can set or a Blank Option.

There is also a .3mf file with the values preset for you. You can simply swap to your printer profile and carry over the support values.

This model also works great for testing Grid, Snug, Organic & Tree Support options.

Here is the model in action and some of the wild results I was seeing by using different types of PLA

This model was designed in Shapr3D on my iPad

Horrible test, wastes a TON of filament for no reason, 2 models per test is really not needed. The design has way too much volume for no reason. Nope, this ain't it uncle jessy

Well the base settings that clearly everone seems to use are flawed and use too much filament ant time, this can be tested with 1/4 of the filament and 1/4 of the time with a different model.

Great, when can we expect this model that achieves all the test parameters this one does with 1/4 of the filament then? You have 0 published models considering you are such an expert that seems strange.

Ive learned the hard way thru ruined prints with stubborn support. If you are printing anything with significant amount of support, then you MUST test your filament, nozzle & layer height with this model. Its only 100g and far better than a ruined print. I am only 4 months into my 3d printing journey, but this has become one of go to tools when using any filament beyond basic PLA. For me, anything in PETG or other filaments infused with CF/GF this is particularly important. Thanks for this model!!

Just change your nozzle settings in Bambu Studio. it’s pretty easy.
