Description

"Back to the Future" License Plates šŸš—šŸ•’

This 3D model is a tribute to the iconic license plates from the Back to the Future movies. It includes the famous ā€œOUTATIMEā€ plate from the DeLorean and the futuristic ā€œ2015ā€ plate seen in the sequel. As a fan of the franchise, I’ve recreated these plates with attention to detail to bring them to life in your collection! šŸŽ„āœØ

The plates were designed using custom-made SVG files, which I carefully crafted based on photos from the films. Additionally, I used the Make My Sign tool from Bambulab to turn those SVGs into precise 3D models. šŸ–¼ļøšŸ”§

For this model, I used 5 different colors of PLA to achieve a vibrant and accurate finish:

  • Eryone PLA+ : White
  • Eryone Standard PLA : Orange
  • Eryone PLA+ : Blue
  • Eryone Ultra Silk PLA : Dark gold
  • Bambulab PLA Basic : Red

If you are using a printer with only one AMS unit that supports up to four colors at once, you will need to swap out one of the spools between the two plates. This allows you to complete the print with all five colors, ensuring a perfect match for the original plates. šŸŽØšŸ–Øļø

Tip: I recommend performing an ironing test with the PLA filaments you plan to use. Without the correct ironing settings, the surface finish may come out poorly, affecting the final appearance of the plates. šŸ”§āœØ

You can easily swap between the two plates by sticking them back-to-back. With a simple flip, you can display either the OUTATIME plate or the 2015 plate, depending on your preference. This design is perfect for Back to the Future fans who want flexibility and style in their collection! šŸ”„šŸ†’
