Description

3D scan of a Topi skull using Artec Eva scanner. Horn are printed separately and fit to skull using hexagon pins. After i separated the horns from the skull, I thought I needed to paint the very bottoms of the horns, but it is completely unnecessary, and this published file has each plate printed in a single color. Finished skulls with horns is about 2 feet tall (61 cm).

It is a long print, The horns take 9 hours and the skull takes 19 hours, but it creates an impressive display on the wall.

I just used a single strip of the 3M dual lock to hang it.

While the A series has an out of the box build volume of 256x256x256, the X and P series actually have a slightly smaller build size available. There is a blocked corner in the front left, and there is height limit of 250mm. You can modify things and remove the AMS to get the maximum 256x256x256: https://wiki.bambulab.com/en/knowledge-sharing/print-volume-limitations I made the model and profile before I knew this limitation of the X and P series printers, and one of the horns is place in the blocked near left cutter corner and is just taller than 250mm. I posted a modified profile that reduces the print by 2% to get the horn height below the 250mm ceiling and moved the left horn out of the blocked cutter zone to fit the X and P series printers. I hope this explains things and helps :)
