Description

Level up your Oktoberfest with a 3d printed Beer Stein! This one is designed to fit a 20 oz yeti tumbler inside so that your beer stays cold, and doesn't interact with the 3d print at all! We wouldn't want health concerns associated with our drinking habits now, would we?

4 separate parts are included:

  1. Main Body
    1. Print with supports under the bottom. I used support PLA for this, to give a smooth underbody. You could probably skip them altogether on this component, since it is on the bottom, but I didn't try that.
  2. Lid
    1. I printed the lid with supports under all bottom facing surfaces, again using support PLA. I don't recommend skipping the supports on this one though, since the bottom surface of the lid is technically accessible to the beverage when in use.
    2. This component gets attached to the handle with a M4x20mm button cap bolt and M4 nut, lightly snugged to prevent wobble in the hinge action. Be careful not to tighten too much or the hinge will bind.
  3. Handle
    1. I printed the handle on its side, with supports in the counterbore, and between the hinge faces.
    2. This component gets attached to the main body with superglue
      1. Take care to get a good fit and good adhesion. These joints will hold the weight of all your precious beer.
  4. Top Ring
    1. This piece has no special printing considerations
    2. It is included to allow you to:
      1. Test the fit with the cup before committing to a full print
      2. Scale up and down for a perfect slip fit with the cup, even if the main body is a bit too loose
      3. Add a bit of color to the top of your main body.
    3. This component gets attached to the main body with superglue

Happy Drinking Y'All

Tweaked the handle a wee bit to make it a stein w/o top. Printed it with silk silver PLA. Seam shows up on the top of handle. If I was to print it again, I would orient handle such that seam with be on the inside part of handle.

Printed well. I had a lil difficulty connecting lid hinge and the tumbler seat didn't fit well. I have a 24oz tumbler. it doesn't fit and I wasn't gonna go buy a 20oz one. I modded the handle to remove the hinge so I can have a stein w/o a lid. Also modded profile to place seam in back and adjust handle placement to print the seam in less visible area. Local BJ's Restaurant was celebrating their 20th anniversary. I engraved the stein as an anniversary present for them. See photo.

Printed two because the first one came out so well. One for me. One for my buddy. Thank you!
