25mm Silver Keychain (10pcs) - MA001

Description

Boost Me (for free)

If you enjoy my designs, you can support my work with a boost!

This is a keychain looking like a small filament spool, either made to fit an Apple AirTag, or as a pill box to store small items. It's not only useful, it also allows you to carry a sample of your favorite filament with you at all times!

There are two versions, one which perfectly fits an AirTag, and one that can be used as a multi purpose container, storing all kind of small items.

Assembly doesn't require tools, simply spin in between your palms until it clicks open or close. I'm always paranoid about such keychains opening on accident, so I made sure the keyring locks the parts in place, making sure it can't open while you carry it, even if the click mechanism wears out.

I tested this with different PLAs - In general, this works better with basic PLAs. Matte PLAs are stiffer and more brittle, making it harder to close and more likely to fail, but they worked in my case (Tested with Bambu and eSun).

I found some materials needing less clearance than others, so I also added a Low Clearance Version. If you print the regular one and find it too wiggly and not clicking well, you should try printing that one instead.

Absolutely lovely little spools, ultra cute and so useful. Currently printing myself a whole rainbow of them and almost finished! edit: where's my stars option? Well it got 6 anyway! Edit: The Magnificent Seven Edit 2: and some mates!

My son loves that filament colour. Is that a Bambu filament?

A little late but here I am. It's not Bambu, it's an inexpensive PETG hehe.

Guess I'm not the only one printing a boat load of these. They are the new benchy for me. Prints at a fraction of the time and takes up much less space.

Here's another boost. These things are amazing and with the little lobster clip you can access them really quickly. Always useful for my bike cruises when I need the odd tablet and don't want them rattling round my bags or pockets. Makes a good talking point too. People are amazed when I say I printed them myself.

Thank you again for the support, I still can't believe someone printed so many pieces! I feel like you even beat the stack of prototypes I made.

Oh I've just ordered another 7 colours to go with the new printer I ordered. Just you wait :) That's the thing about being a bit OCD/ADHD you get a bit fixated on things that you like. Oh and I tried one out on the bike this weekend and it performed wonderfully with my little tablets in. Got everyone talking! Trouble is I'll end up giving them all away and I'll need to reprint all over again. OOh so there's no drawbacks then :)

great design and great quality of print. I'm going to print more but I'll make a print profile that prints by object so I can do in one go next time. I'm intending to print morning pill cases one colour and evening cases another.

Thank you for your review and boost, this means a lot to me! :) I think someone already posted a profile for this, I actually printed my own prototypes like this as well. But remember print by object requires an AMS (in this case) and won't work with all printers, as the designer I aim to make profiles that work for everyone.

Love these so much I designed a rack for displaying them on my SKÄDIS pegboard! https://makerworld.com/en/models/849426#profileId-797056

Thank you for your boost - I designed it like this to make absolutely sure it doesn't open up on accident, since PLA can loosen up with time and become weaker. It's best used with one of these quick detach key rings. this gives you the advantaged security with very quick access.
