Description

Now it's finally possible to build your very own Gameboy DMG inspired Store Kiosk! 
- Play your games like it's the 90s again! -

"Now you're playing with power - wall mounted power!"

 

This Demo Kiosk is inspired by the original Nintendo Gameboy Store Kiosk M92V 
that could be found in toy and game stores back in the 90s.

For obvious reasons, I have chosen NOT to share the part with the 'Gameboy' logo. However, I have attached the STEP file so you can modify it yourself within your preferred modeling software. I apologize for any inconvenience this might cause.

 

 

Before you start this print, please, Please, PLEASE clean your print bed with hot water, soap, and a kitchen sponge. The front piece uses about 700g of filament and takes around 20 hours to print. It would not be fun to waste that much time and filament due to poor bed adhesion.

 

For reference, my logo is 149mm * 25mm

The banner is glued onto the front cavity.

FOR BAMBU LAB X1C USERS:
Please disable your flow calibration as the front and back pieces take up the whole printarea!

 

I've mounted mine to the back of my game room door with 4 pieces of 30mm stickers from Bambu Lab. The part is also designed to be mounted with two 4mm screws, but the stickers are more than sufficient if the wall surface is clean and smooth.

 

I've wired mine so I can power both the LED and the Gameboy from a power bank, but I've added a cutout for those who want to power it from an external power source. 
I refurbished an old mini DC cable from a flashlight, and it works perfectly with the Gameboy.

 

The back and front parts are connected with 8 pieces of 15x3 magnets, also from the Bambu Lab maker supply store. It shouldn't be necessary to glue these in, as it is designed to be a tight fit. If you're struggling with this, I suggest heating the magnet for two seconds, and it should pop right in.

 

For the diffuser part you should glue it to the front part. Be carefull! A little glue goes a long way here.

Glue along the marked edge. Maybe also the opposite edge. (behind the logo banner)


The Led Strip attached with the adhesive to the upper part and should be press fitted into the diffuser part as seen below.

 

Gluing on the two rings:

The blue ring goes on the back part, and should be glued in flush with the top as seen below.

For the red ring I have made a small spacer that should be placed between the blue and red rings while gluing. The spacer is the green parts seen below.
