Description

This small car is powered by the mechanical energy of rubber bands wrapped around its central axle. Fully 3D printed, it’s perfect for educational projects or family activities. Easy to assemble and customize, it helps demonstrate the basic principles of mechanical energy and 3D design.

Features:

  • Propulsion: Rubber bands are wrapped around the central axle to generate power.
  • Materials: All parts are 3D printed to keep production costs low.
  • Grippy Wheels: The wheels are designed with rubber bands for extra traction, preventing slippage due to high torque.
  • Easy Assembly: The assembly instructions are straightforward.
  • Performance Optimization: Lubricate the axles to improve performance, and the car can travel up to 18 meters in a straight line with proper rubber band winding.

Print Recommendations:

  • Material: PLA
  • Layer Height: 0.2 mm
  • Infill: Minimum 20%
  • Rear Axle: Print the rear axle at 50-60% infill using gyroid pattern for increased strength and durability.
  • Supports: Not necessary

Assembly Instructions:

  1. Print all the required parts.
  2. Assemble the car as shown in the photos, wrapping the rubber bands around the central axle.
  3. Add rubber bands around the wheels for better traction.
  4. Before gluing the second wheel, make sure the axle is properly inserted into the chassis.
  5. For better performance, lubricate the axles and adjust the rubber band tension.

This project is perfect for educational workshops or just having fun building a rubber band-powered mechanical car.
